Flower and Asura Manga to End This August

The coming-of-age manga Flower and Asura (Hana wa Saku, Shura no Gotoku) is officially nearing its conclusion. It has been announced that the series will end with its next chapter, scheduled for release on August 19, bringing nearly five years of serialization to a close.

Final Chapter Confirmed for August

The announcement was made in the latest issue of Ultra Jump, confirming that the upcoming issue, releasing on August 19, will feature the manga’s final chapter.

Written by Ayano Takeda and illustrated by Musshu, Flower and Asura has been serialized since June 2021, gradually building a loyal readership with its heartfelt coming-of-age story centered around youth, friendship, and the power of storytelling.

A Story About Finding Confidence Through Broadcasting

The series follows Hana, a high school student living on the small island of Tonakishima, home to around 600 residents. Known for her love of reading stories aloud to local children, Hana catches the attention of Mizuki, the president of her school’s Broadcasting Club.

Encouraged to join the club, Hana begins discovering new friendships, overcoming personal challenges, and experiencing opportunities that gradually help her grow both as a person and as a broadcaster.

Manga Reached 10 Volumes

Since its debut in 2021, the manga has released 10 collected volumes, with the latest volume published earlier this year.

Its growing popularity also led to a television anime adaptation, which premiered in January 2025 and introduced the story to a wider audience outside the manga community.
