Agri Uma’s romance manga Studio Cabana is officially heading to television. A TV anime adaptation has been confirmed for broadcast in 2027, with the announcement accompanied by the launch of an official website and the release of a teaser visual. A specific premiere month has not yet been revealed.
JUVENAGE Takes Charge of the Animation
The adaptation will be produced by JUVENAGE, the animation studio also connected with Kusunoki’s Garden of Gods. Shinichiro Ushijima, known for his work on UniteUp!, will direct the series.
Sawako Hirabayashi is handling the series composition, while Haruka Sagawa is responsible for adapting the manga’s character designs for animation. Hirabayashi previously worked on I’ll Become a Villainess Who Goes Down in History, and Sagawa is credited on Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Season 4.
The first confirmed cast member is Sayumi Suzushiro, who will voice the female lead, Yukari Maki. Suzushiro is widely recognized for roles including Nijika Ijichi in Bocchi the Rock!.

A Romance Shaped by Music
Studio Cabana follows Yukari Maki, a serious high school student who has little patience for dishonesty or irresponsible behavior. Her straightforward personality eventually places her in the awkward position of regularly delivering messages to Yusuke Kusaka, a feared classmate known around school for his distant attitude and intimidating appearance.
Yukari initially believes that she and Yusuke have almost nothing in common. However, her perception of him changes after she happens to see him entering a music studio after school.
Inside the studio, she discovers a side of Yusuke that most of their classmates have never witnessed. He is the vocalist and lyricist of a band called the oops, and his emotional singing contrasts sharply with the cold image he presents at school. After Yukari hears him perform, the distance between the two students gradually begins to change.
The story combines high school drama, complicated romance and musical performance. Rather than presenting music only as a background theme, the series uses songs and lyrics to reveal feelings its characters struggle to communicate directly.
Search for Yusuke’s Singing Voice Begins
Although the actor who will provide Yusuke Kusaka’s regular speaking voice has not yet been announced, the production has begun an audition to select the artist who will perform his singing parts.
The anime’s official website also confirmed plans for a fan-voting project connected to the audition. Additional information regarding the candidates and voting process is expected to be shared as production continues.
This approach could give the musical performances an especially important role in the adaptation, as Yusuke’s voice and songwriting are central to both his hidden identity and his developing relationship with Yukari.

Manga Creator Celebrates the Announcement
Agri Uma, who writes and illustrates the original manga, shared a special commemorative illustration following the anime announcement.
The manga began serialization in June 2021 on Pixiv Comic under ASCII Media Works’ Pixiv Sylph label. The official anime website currently displays eight Japanese collected volumes of the series. Yen Press is also preparing an English-language release of the manga.
With its production team, first cast member and 2027 broadcast window now confirmed, Studio Cabana has taken its first major step toward television. Further announcements are expected to reveal Yusuke’s cast members, additional characters, music details and a more precise release schedule.
