The upcoming fantasy romantic comedy anime I’m Dating a Dark Summoner has released its first official trailer, offering fans a closer look at its main characters, animation style, and lighthearted mix of comedy, fantasy, and romance. The series is scheduled to premiere in October 2026 and will stream on HIDIVE.
First Trailer Introduces Amona and Roni
The newly released trailer focuses on the unusual relationship between Amona, a demi-human dark summoner, and Roni, a serious young priest. Although the two initially appear to be complete opposites, an unexpected encounter quickly complicates their relationship and sets the stage for the series’ romantic comedy.
Alongside several comedic moments, the preview also showcases the fantasy setting, action scenes, and the chemistry between the lead characters.
A Fantasy Rom-Com With a Different Premise
Based on the manga by Shaoh, I’m Dating a Dark Summoner follows an adventuring party whose newest member is the mysterious dark summoner Amona. Despite Roni’s strict personality and distrust of dark magic, the pair unexpectedly become much closer than either of them planned.
The anime blends romance, fantasy, and comedy while following the awkward relationship that develops between the two protagonists during their adventures.
Premiering This October
The anime is being produced by AtoriE with production cooperation from Nyan Pollution-ω-, while Seiya Miyajima serves as both director and series composer.
