Amazon Games has announced Batman: Caped Crusader – Chronicles, a cooperative crime-solving party game inspired by Prime Video’s noir-styled animated series.
The game will launch exclusively through Amazon Luna on July 31, 2026, arriving on the same day as the second season of Batman: Caped Crusader. Prime members in supported territories will be able to play it through Luna at no additional cost.
Players Join Batman’s Gotham Task Force
Designed for one to four players, Batman: Caped Crusader – Chronicles places its participants inside the shadowy version of Gotham City established by the animated series.
Rather than taking control of Batman in a conventional action adventure, players become members of a special GCPD task force connected to the vigilante’s inner circle. Working alongside Detective Renee Montoya, the group must examine evidence, follow leads and reach conclusions about a series of criminal cases.
The campaign is divided into 11 episodes, with each chapter introducing a different investigation and a new detective-themed minigame. Players will be asked to interrogate suspects, decode clues and combine information as they attempt to uncover the people responsible for Gotham’s latest crimes.
This episodic approach is intended to make the experience resemble an interactive extension of the television series. Each case contributes to the wider journey while offering its own mystery for the group to solve.
Batman’s Rogues Gallery Takes Over the Cases
The investigations will involve several villains drawn from DC’s wider Batman mythology.
Amazon has confirmed appearances from Scarecrow, Babyface, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, Dollmaker, Lynx, Music Meister and the Joker. Different villains will be connected to the game’s episodic cases, giving players new evidence and criminal methods to examine as they move through the campaign.
The selection mixes internationally recognizable enemies with characters who have received less attention in modern Batman games. That lineup should allow the cases to vary in tone rather than building every mystery around the same type of crime.
Although Batman remains central to the premise, the announced gameplay places a particularly strong emphasis on Montoya and the investigative team. The setup fits the detective focus of Caped Crusader, where Gotham’s police officers, lawyers and criminals frequently receive stories that extend beyond Bruce Wayne’s perspective.
Animated-Series Cast Members Return
Several performers from the Prime Video production will reprise their roles for the game.
Hamish Linklater returns as Batman, while Michelle C. Bonilla once again voices Detective Montoya. Matthew Needham, who will portray the Joker in the animated show’s second season, is also providing the character’s voice in Chronicles.
Their involvement creates a direct connection between the two projects. Players will hear the same principal performers featured in the series rather than a separate cast assembled only for the interactive adaptation.
Additional voice talent may also be featured, although Amazon has not published a complete cast list.
Smartphones Become the Controllers
Batman: Caped Crusader – Chronicles is joining GameNight, Amazon Luna’s collection of party games designed to be played without conventional controllers.
Players can stream the game through Luna and use their smartphones as controllers. Amazon says no additional gaming hardware or download is required, allowing a group to join the same session using devices they already own.
The simplified setup is intended to accommodate both experienced players and people who rarely play video games. Instead of requiring every participant to understand a complex combat system, the experience revolves around shared observation, decision-making and minigames.
Solo play will also be supported, so completing the cases will not require a full four-player group.
Fire TV users in the United States and United Kingdom can access supported Luna games directly through Prime Video. This integration will allow eligible viewers to move from watching Batman: Caped Crusader to playing its interactive companion through the same application.
Launch Limited to Selected Countries
At launch, Batman: Caped Crusader – Chronicles will be available through Luna in the following territories:
United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Portugal, Belgium and Luxembourg.
Turkey is not included in the initial list of supported countries. Amazon has not announced whether the game will expand into additional Luna regions later.
The title will be accessible to both Prime members and Luna subscribers in supported locations. Prime members will not need to make a separate game purchase, although access still depends on Luna’s regional availability and the devices supported by the cloud service.
Launching Alongside Season 2
The timing of the game is closely tied to the return of the animated series.
All 10 episodes of Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2 will arrive on Prime Video on July 31. The new season continues Batman’s fight against Gotham’s criminal underworld while introducing characters including Edward Nygma, Carrie Kelley, Roxy Rocket and the Joker.
Launching both projects together allows Chronicles to function as a companion to the series without simply retelling its episodes. The game instead presents its own group of investigations within the same noir-inspired interpretation of Gotham.
Amazon has not announced plans to release the title on PC storefronts, consoles or rival cloud platforms. It is currently described as an Amazon Luna exclusive.
