Night Raven College will reopen its doors later this year. Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation is officially returning for its second season in December 2026, exclusively on Disney+.
Titled Episode of Savanaclaw, the new season will move the spotlight away from Heartslabyul and place Leona Kingscholar, Jack Howl and Ruggie Bucchi at the center of the story. Disney announced the release window on July 27, which is also Leona’s birthday within the franchise. A specific December premiere date has not yet been revealed.
Leona Takes the Throne in the New Teaser Visual
The announcement arrived with a teaser visual establishing a noticeably darker mood for the next chapter.
Leona is shown sitting confidently on a throne against a stone wall illuminated by an eerie green light. Ruggie stands nearby with a knowing smile, while Jack watches with a much more serious expression. Golden magic circles around the characters, and the shadow of a lion-like figure appears behind them.
The promotional tagline can be interpreted as “The scheming begins,” suggesting that the season will involve manipulation and hidden plans alongside the physical competition associated with Savanaclaw.
The visual also reflects the dorm’s connection to The Lion King. Within the world of Twisted-Wonderland, Savanaclaw was founded around the “spirit of persistence” associated with the legendary King of Beasts. Each of Night Raven College’s seven dormitories draws inspiration from a different Disney villain or antagonist.
Season 2 Shifts Its Focus to Savanaclaw
The first season, Episode of Heartslabyul, followed Yuken Enma after a magical carriage transported him from his ordinary life to the unfamiliar world of Twisted-Wonderland.
Unable to use magic, Yuken became connected to the abandoned Ramshackle dorm alongside the troublemaking monster Grim. Their arrival eventually pulled them into the conflict surrounding Riddle Rosehearts and the strict rules governing Heartslabyul.
Season 2 will continue the larger Night Raven College story while focusing on Savanaclaw, a dorm populated by students who value physical strength, determination and competitive ability.
Leona serves as its housewarden. Despite possessing considerable magical talent, he is frequently unwilling to apply himself and approaches others with the confidence of a prince. His position as the second-born son of a royal family has also shaped his cynical belief that effort cannot always overcome circumstances decided at birth.
Ruggie regularly handles the problems Leona creates. Having grown up in poverty, he is resourceful, opportunistic and particularly unwilling to waste food or pass up a useful reward. Jack, meanwhile, is a disciplined first-year student focused on physical training and self-improvement. Although he avoids becoming overly friendly with others, he holds strong principles about honest competition.
These contrasting personalities should give the second season a different character dynamic from Heartslabyul. Instead of a dorm controlled through an enormous collection of formal rules, Savanaclaw is defined by hierarchy, ambition and the question of what strength truly means.
Magift Will Be an Important Part of the Story
The new chapter is also expected to give a major role to Magift, the magical team sport played by Night Raven College’s students.
Jack voice actor Taito Ban specifically encouraged audiences to watch for the season’s Magift scenes, describing them as a major attraction of the Savanaclaw storyline. His comments indicate that the adaptation is placing considerable emphasis on presenting the sport with an appropriate sense of scale and physical impact.
Magift should provide more than an opportunity for action. Competitive sport naturally suits Savanaclaw’s culture, where strength and position carry particular importance. It also creates a situation in which Leona’s strategic intelligence, Ruggie’s adaptability and Jack’s commitment to fairness can come into conflict.
Disney has not yet released a full synopsis for the season, so detailed descriptions of its central conspiracy would risk revealing material that the official announcement is currently keeping secret.
The Savanaclaw Voice Cast Returns
The three principal Savanaclaw actors from the mobile game and first anime season will reprise their roles:

Aoi Ichikawa as Ruggie Bucchi
Umehara said the Savanaclaw focus gave him significantly more material to record as Leona. He also highlighted the dramatic energy created through the characters’ interactions and expressed confidence that the season could appeal to both established players and newcomers.
Ban described his excitement at finally seeing the Savanaclaw storyline animated six years after the original game launched. Alongside the characters themselves, he identified the Magift sequences as something viewers should pay particular attention to.
Ichikawa reflected on having portrayed Ruggie for more than half of his career as a voice actor. He teased the character’s agile movement in the adaptation while thanking fans who have continued supporting the franchise.
Additional returning cast members have not been listed as part of this announcement. However, the continuing format means Yuken, Grim and students from other dormitories are expected to remain involved in the wider Night Raven College story.
The Main Production Team Remains in Place
Takahiro Natori returns as chief director and series composer, while Shin Katagai continues as director. Yoichi Kato is again credited as the main writer.
Akane Sato and Hanaka Nakano are handling the character designs, supported by sub-character designer Aki Tsunaki. Takumi Ozawa, who has composed music for the original game and the anime, is returning to score the Savanaclaw chapter.

The adaptation is based on the original Disney Twisted-Wonderland game, for which Black Butler creator Yana Toboso developed the original concept, principal scenario and character designs.
More specifically, Season 2 draws from Disney Twisted-Wonderland The Comic: Episode of Savanaclaw, illustrated by Suzuka Oda from Toboso’s original concept. The manga was published by Square Enix through its G Fantasy Comics line.
Season 1 Became a Major Disney+ Anime Release
Episode of Heartslabyul began streaming in October 2025 and consisted of eight episodes. Disney says the series became the platform’s most-watched Japanese-produced animated title worldwide when measured by views during its first seven days of availability. It was also nominated in the Best Isekai Anime category at the 2026 Crunchyroll Anime Awards.
The anime’s use of a new protagonist distinguishes it slightly from the original mobile game. Yuken provides a defined viewpoint for the adaptation while retaining the game’s premise of an outsider being summoned into a magical academy filled with gifted but highly dysfunctional students.
This structure allows every season to focus on a different dorm while continuing Yuken and Grim’s larger attempt to understand Twisted-Wonderland and eventually find a route home.
A Third Season Is Already Confirmed
The anime project is not expected to end with Savanaclaw.
Disney has already confirmed a third season titled Episode of Octavinelle. That chapter will focus on the dorm inspired by the Sea Witch from The Little Mermaid. A release window for Season 3 has not yet been announced.
The multi-season structure reflects the organization of the original game and its manga adaptations, where each major storyline examines the students of a particular dorm and the personal conflict surrounding its housewarden.
What Has Not Been Announced
Disney has confirmed the December window, teaser visual, principal Savanaclaw cast and returning production team. Several important details remain unknown, including:
- The exact December premiere day
- The number of episodes
- The opening and ending theme songs
- The full returning voice cast
- Whether episodes will be released weekly or simultaneously
- The first complete trailer
The announcement describes the series as a Disney+ exclusive. Regional availability and whether the anime will also appear through Hulu in the United States have not yet been clarified for Season 2.
A More Competitive Chapter Begins in December
Episode of Savanaclaw has the opportunity to broaden the anime beyond the rule-driven conflict that defined its opening season.
Leona’s frustration with the limitations imposed on him, Ruggie’s practical instinct for survival and Jack’s uncompromising belief in honest strength create a trio with sharply different values. Placing those characters inside a competitive Magift storyline should give the second season both a stronger action component and a more complicated examination of ambition.
Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation – Episode of Savanaclaw will begin streaming exclusively on Disney+ in December 2026.
